Alabama Cooperatives Receive Grants to Build Broadband

The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs will administer $188 million in grants to expand high-speed internet in the state. Beneficiaries include Central Alabama Electric Cooperative, Cullman Electric Cooperative, Joe Wheeler Electric Membership Corp., and Tombigbee Electric Cooperative.

Cullman Electric Cooperative to Receive Grant to Fund Fiber Internet

Cullman Electric Cooperative will receive a $4,579,716.92 grant to assist in bringing Sprout Fiber Internet to more than 1,300 households, 33 businesses and 23 anchor institutions.

Electric Cooperative Looks to Grants to Help Expand Internet Coverage to Rural Areas

Cullman Electric Cooperative, which has already invested $25 million to provide fiber optic internet coverage to 15,000 unserved customers, has begun applying for state grants to help achieve its goal of reaching all 35,000 members.
