Tombigbee Electric Celebrates Completion of $145 Million Rural Fiber Project in Alabama

Tombigbee Electric Cooperative has completed $145 million fiber infrastructure project, bringing high-speed internet across eight rural counties in Northwest Alabama. The 4,200-mile network extends connectivity to homes and businesses in underserved areas that previously lacked access to modern broadband services.

Alabama Cooperatives Receive Grants to Build Broadband

The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs will administer $188 million in grants to expand high-speed internet in the state. Beneficiaries include Central Alabama Electric Cooperative, Cullman Electric Cooperative, Joe Wheeler Electric Membership Corp., and Tombigbee Electric Cooperative.
