Oglethorpe Power among Recipients of Department of Energy $250 Million Grant

Through its Department of Energy Grid Resilience and Innovation Partnerships Program, the Department of Energy recently awarded several Georgia entities, including Oglethorpe Power, an aggregate $250 million for clean energy projects. The projects include investments in battery storage, local microgrids and grid reliability, while implementing new transmission lines to link communities and advanced grid control systems to improve system resilience. Oglethorpe has proposed to use its funds to construct three 25-megawatt batteries.
