Tri-County Electric Coop Plans Community Solar

An Oklahoma electric cooperative is building a 1-MW community solar array near its Hooker, Oklahoma headquarters.  Tri-County Electric Coop (TCEC) plans to offer its members the opportunity to purchase panels in the array and receive credits on their bills.  For more information, please click here.

FEMA Grant Will Help Vermont Coop Clean Up

Vermont legislators announced last Friday that the Vermont Electric Cooperative (VEC) will receive a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).  The $2.1 million grant will cover cleanup and repair costs related to severe weather that occurred last December and caused 45,000 outages in VEC’s service territory.  Click here for more.

Dairyland Power Seeks Bids for Solar Project

Dairyland Power, an electric cooperative based in La Crosse, Wisconsin, announced that it is seeking proposals from solar developers for up to 25 MW of photovoltaic generation to add to its renewable energy portfolio.  Read more here.

Tennessee Coop Proposes Purchase of Municipal Utility

Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation (MTEMC) has proposed to the City of Murfreesboro its interest in purchasing and consolidating with the city’s municipal utility, Murfreesboro Electric Department (MED).  The City of Murfreesboro is an “island” within MTEMC’s territory, and MTEMC leadership believes that a consolidation with MED would create efficiencies.  Click here for...
