Georgia Coop Moves Forward with New Plant

More Wind Expected in Alaska

Alaskan electric coop Kodiak Electric Association is accepting contractor bids to double the size of its current 4.5-MW wind farm. The expansion, when coupled with a nearby hydropower plant, will help Kodiak attain its renewable energy goal of 95 percent renewables by 2020. Argan Awarded Texas Biomass Plant

Gemma Power Systems, a subsidiary of Argan Inc. has been appointed to build a $165 million biomass plant near Woodville, Texas. East Texas Electric Cooperative awarded the contract, which still requires certain regulatory approvals. The parties anticipate a project completion date in December 2014. Oregon Coop and Winery To Promote Solar Development
